Copyright Jan Burgers printed on 250gsm Kodak paper:

Spa-Francochamps was the fastest grand prix venue for the duration Giacomo Agostini's incredible career. After finishing second to Mike Hailwood's Honda in the 1965 Belgian GP, Agostini won eight consecutive Belgian Grands Prix from 1966 to 1973 with MV Agusta, bettering the 130.66mph lap record he set in 1969 by just 0.5sec in his last win at the daunting 14.km road course set in the Ardennes.

By 1971 Agostini was the undisputed king of grand prix racing, claiming six consecutive world 500cc championship and four 350 crowns to edge Mike Hailwood’s record nine world titles. In the 1972  Belgian Grand Prix at Spa, Ago won from MV teammate Alberto Pagani by two-and-a-half minutes. Asked in recent years about his favourite parts of the TT and Spa courses, Agostini's wizened face softens and he smiles. "I loved it all."
